Hi - so we're into the last stretch of the year, with Christmas and New Year approaching. Once again the year has flown by and the No Time to Die premiere seems a distant memory.

Update: Last month you may remember I set up a Patreon page with the aim of eventually removing Google ads from the website. So I'd like to thank Javi Trujillo for becoming my first Patron subscriber! 🥇

News

Before we look at the latest news on No Time to Die there are a couple of other items to cover.

The first item is that Ian Fleming biographer John Pearson has died aged 91. He worked for Ian Fleming and wrote biographies of both James Bond’s creator as well as 007 himself.

And Harper Collins has announced a trilogy of Double O novels written by Kim Sherwood. But instead of being James Bond continuation novels, the premise of Kim Sherwood’s new stories is that 007 is missing and presumed to be either missing or dead.

Disappointing box office takings in North America were likely to be driver behind decision to hit streaming platforms early. Although not a disaster, underperformance in the North American Market probably led to the decision for the early debut of No Time to Die on streaming platforms in the US. The film was soon available to stream in the UK too.

Disappointing or not, eventually the 25th James Bond film overtook F9: The Fast Saga at the box office to make it the biggest Hollywood film of the pandemic era.

Features

Whether or not you are a fan of the score by Hans Zimmer and Steve Mazzaro, some of the more interesting music in No Time to Die is by other artists. The 25th James Bond movie uses a number of additional tracks, particularly in Jamaica and Cuba. Additional music in No Time to Die
