Hi - Welcome to The James Bond Dossier's September newsletter!

Hard to believe it's nearly a year since No Time to Die premiered at the Royal Albert Hall. What happened to all that time?

I'm back from a summer of beaches and snorkelling and I wish I could say I'm ready for action - but really I wish I was still on holiday!

Anyway, this month we've got all the latest news on an upcoming book and a new sound stage named after Sean Connery. We also have a review of Kim Sherwood's new novel featuring other double-O agents, Double or Nothing, as well as a review of the latest instalment in Dynamite's 007 comic book series.

Carry on reading below for all the latest happenings in the world of James Bond.

News

MGM announced that the Amazon owned studio’s international releases will be handled by Warner Bros. in place of Universal. However, the new arrangement excludes Bond 26, although Warners could handle Bond 27. There are no dates on either of those though.

In 2019, Oscar-winning special effects supremo John Richardson released his first book, the best-selling Making Movie Magic, which chronicled his remarkable career in the film industry. A year later, during a house clear-out as the country was stuck in lockdown he unearthed new photos, included in a forthcoming book to be published in October.

Pinewood Studios has announced they will name a new soundstage after the late Sir Sean Connery. The 18,000sq ft Sean Connery Stage is one of five new soundstages planned for the Pinewood Studios lot.

Features

Double or Nothing is the first in a trilogy of novels focusing on the Double-O Section in which James Bond has vanished while on assignment. Written by Kim Sherwood, I was lucky enough to receive a advance copy from the publisher. You can read my review here.

Javier E Trujillo reviews the fourth issue from Dynamite’s 2021 comic book series, James Bond: Himeros.
