Hi {firstname_fix}

I don't know what your weirdest viewing of Quantum of Solace has been, but last Friday evening I met up with Steve Illing for my second view.

It turned out to be quite a surreal night, as Steve is a Daniel Craig impersonator and he got quite a few double takes as we waited to go in. He also knows a Catalan Sean Connery, so things are destined to get even weirder in the near future, although sadly, a planned event last night was cancelled due to "Sean Connery" being unavailable.

Anyway, if you are holding a Christmas party and think you need a Daniel Craig impersonator to really make it work, then Steve is your man - if you reply to me I'll forward your details to him.

Something else you may be interested in in "The London Bond Experience" from Thames RIB Experience, in which you are shown some of the Bond related sites along the Thames from a high power speed boat. Great for corporate entertainment, stag parties or any other reason to celebrate, you can contact theme on 0207 930 5746 - don't forget to say I sent you.

With the Christmas season coming up, I've decided to send you details of some of the top Bond related gifts this year and if you have ideas that I haven't thought of, please let me know.

I'm going to start with something you think you already have - check out the details though and I'm sure you'll decide it's a must have!

Daniel Craig's first outing as James Bond in Casino Royale has recently been re-released on DVD and Blu-Ray to coincide with the theatrical release of Quantum of Solace.

A selection of other Bond films has also been made available on Blu-Ray for the first time, with more to follow in 2009.

Many people were unhappy with the extras on first release of Casino Royale, but this reissue has been designed to amend that; in addition to the previous extras, the Deluxe Edition - known as the Collectors Edition in the US - adds commentaries by director Martin Campbell and co-producer Michael Wilson; and a second by the crew.

Other previously unreleased material includes deleted scenes, as well as a feature on why it over 50 years for the Bond filmmakers to bring Ian Fleming's first 007 novel to the big screen and what is claimed to be previously unrevealed information about Bond's creator and the origins of 007

Other new features include:

  • James Bond in the Bahamas
  • Ian Fleming: The Secret Road to Paradise
  • Death in Venice
  • The Art of the Freerun
  • Catching a Plane: From Storyboard to Screen
  • Storyboard Sequence: Freerun Chase

That's all for now, speak soon.
