This newsletter is never sent to anyone who doesn't want to receive it. If you want to remove your name from the list see the instructions at the very end of this email.

Hi

One thing before we get started - if you like this email newsletter why don't you do a friend - and me - a favour and forward it to them and if they like it enough they can sign up too.

Anyway, here's the Newsletter for May 2009

Bond 23

Still no news on Bond 23, but as soon as there is a confirmed news item I will send an email alert to you so you don't have to wait for the newsletter to arrive. Personally I don't think we'll hear anything until late this year at the earliest and I think we can safely assume now that the next Bond film will be in 2011.

Free download

Last month I mentioned that Paul Kyriazi's "How to live the James Bond lifestyle" is now available as a download. Well, I contacted Paul about putting together a report expanding one of the sections in his audio course, which is called "Bond symbols for change". Basically I expanded my own thoughts on how you can put this into pratice and supplied links for you - you can download it here.

Bond books

As anyone who has been on this list for a while knows, I'm quite an avid reader and the latest Bond related book I read was "For Your Eyes Only - Ian Fleming+James Bond" by Ben Macintyre. It's now available in paperback from Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com.

The book was produced to celebrate Ian Fleming's centenary last year and was supposed to be a tie in with the exhibition at the Imperial War Museum, which I unfortunately missed.

I was surprised to find it wasn't therefore a catalogue of the exhibition, but more of a biography. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much new and everything seemed rather familiar. And there is one thing I'd love to know - both this book and "James Bond, The Man And His World" assert that both Fleming and Bond wear bright beach shirts from Antonio's in Falmouth.

The trouble with this is I cannot place that - Ian Fleming may have, but I can't find any reference to Antonio's in any of his novels. In fact to my knowledge Bond always wears a navy sea island cotton shirt, but if anyone can point me to where I can find any reference to Antonio's I'd love to hear from you.

New website launched - James Bond sunglasses

And yes, I have launched a new website which focuses purely on sunglasses worn by James Bond, with links to a variety of online retailers so you can compare prices and/or source locally from the UK, America and Australia.

If you'd like to check it out then it's easy to remember - www.jamesbondsunglasses.com.

Bond on the big screen

If you've never seen any of the early Bond films on the big screen and you live in the UK, now is your chance. Dr No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger and On Her Majesty's Secret Service will be showing on Sundays in June at selected cinemas across the country.

You can check out the details on MI6.

MI6 Declassified

And if you want some good reading material - away from your computer that is - then I recommend the latest edition of MI6 Declassified. It covers Quantum of Solace, John Gardner, Fleming's non-fiction Thrilling Cities and more.

Phew - that's all for now, but if you'd like to get in contact you know where to find me - m@thejamesbonddossier.com.

Until the month!
