Hi

Welcome to the October edition of The James Bond Dossier Newsletter.

You've portably seen that Joseph Wiseman, who played Dr No opposite Sean Connery, has died at the age of 91. Born in Canada, he moved to the United States with his family as a child.

He eventually made a name for himself on Broadway, and had a string of successes over the years. Wiseman was the last surviving villain from the Sean Connery era.

Bond 23

Daniel Craig confirmed what was widely The big news is of course the news that Bond 23 is likely to be released in 2011, a three year gap after Quantum of Solace. What made this news so interesting was that it came from the lips of Daniel Craig himself, while signing autographs backstage on Broadway.

This news has been widely anticipated; Michael G Wilson said back in April 2008 that he would like a break from the Bond films. He also said back in March of this year that work had hardly started in the next film; but a couple of months later he said work had started and Daniel Craig was keen to get going.

And in June EON announced that the Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen) were to join Neal Purvis and Robert Wade as screenwriters on Bond 23, noting that Morgan would turn his attention to Bond 23 when he had completed work on other projects.

These include Hereafter, currently being filmed by Clint Eastwood. As well as writing the screenplay, Morgan is joint executive producer and therefore unlikely to have started work on Bond 23 yet, although Purvis and Wade may have.
