Thanks to everyone who has downloaded the updated version of "The Complete Guide to the Drinks of James Bond" for Kindle.

I wasn't planning on sending an email today, but wanted to apologise to a small number of people in the UK who may have been charged for their copy (according to my records just 9 people were affected out of a total of 1470 downloads so far). 

When I said free, I meant free, but a delay in Amazon.co.uk updating the pricing info meant that anyone in the UK who tried to get it before about 3pm paid £1.54 to get their copy.

Amazon.com and the Amazon Europe sites all updated on time, so it was only people in the UK who were affected. 

Since I live in Spain, rather than any pricing info being shown I get the message " Pricing information not available" displayed for Kindle books on Amazon.co.uk - probably if you visit Amazon.es from the UK you get a similar message.

That meant I was unable to check directly that the price had gone for free, although in retrospect I should have made absolutely certain before sending the email to you yesterday - sorry to everyone who was affected.

The good news is that if you check your records and find you did pay for the book you can request a full refund from Amazon within 7 days of the purchase:

I stress again that most people were unaffected and if you downloaded it after 4pm you certainly will not have been charged.

Once again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience to those who were affected and offer my sincere apologies for not checking that the promotion had been updated to the Amazon.co.uk servers before sending my email yesterday.
