First editions of Ian Fleming’s books are beyond the price range of most 007 fans and collectors, but anyone looking for a first edition copy of Casino Royale to add to their collection should check a current auction on eBay.

The seller, Edward Biddulph, who wrote the James Bond cookbook Licence To Cook and has sometimes contributed to this site tweeted yesterday:
"It is with a heavy heart that I am selling my 1st edition Casino Royale. If anyone’s interested, it’s here on @eBay!"

After contacting him by email he told me he is reluctantly selling his copy of the first James Bond novel as he needs the cash at the moment, but also that he considers first editions a luxury and that he intends to keep the majority of his collection intact.

It's always tough to part with an item like that, so I know how he feels about selling it. All he can hope for now is that it goes to a good home.
