The James Bond Dossier: turn on images for best user experience

Hi

Finally I'm back at work. Unfortunately I didn't manage to take all of August off as planned but I did manage to wind down a bit. I even took a break from social media for a while! Anyway... on to 007!

Daniel Craig confirmed for Bond 25

Unless you
recently signed up for this newsletter you should have received an email mid-August confirming Daniel Craig will be back for Bond 25.

That's great news as far as I'm concerned, although I really wish they could get back to a new film every other year.

He confirmed it in a TV interview just h
ours after saying in a number radio interviews that he hadn't yet decided!

There had been plenty of reports in the prior months that he was going to return as 007, but there were also many reports that he had definitely quit too. None had any real substance though until the New York Times announced Craig would be coming back. That was a couple of months ago.

As for the rest - a 50/50 bet on the result doesn't make a story. My advice as usual is don't trust the tabloids at all, and be careful what you read elsewhere. That applies generally as just Bond 25. There are plenty of good journalists who publish solid stories. But there are lots who seem to publish anything at all.

If you do want to follow the latest on Bond 25 check out this dedicated page on The James Bond Dossier. And don't forget about social media too! Details below my signature if you're interested.

Roger Moore remembered by MI6 Confidential

Back in May we received the sad news of the death of Sir Roger Moore. Whatever you think of his portrayal of James Bond, he was ever the gentleman and gave his time to worthy causes, includsing UNICEF. He was also renowned for his sense of humour, which was used to good (or bad!) effect in the Bond films and comes across whenever he was interviewed.

To celebrate this like of Sir Roger, MI6 Confidential put together a special double issue looking at the man and his films. Issue 40 takes a look at "Live And Let Die" through to "Moonraker", while issue 41 covers "For Your Eyes Only" through to "A View To A Kill".

You can order this special Roger Moore double issue or order all five issues for 2017 and pay for just four (plus postage) direct from the MI6 Confidential website.

I occasionally contribute to the magzine, which always has a selection of great articles and full colour photography thoughout. If you're a serious Bond fan then I definitely recommend it to you.

OK, that's all for now. I'll be back in your inbox at the beginning of October.

MI6 Confidential #40 & #41: Roger Moore double issue

For the first time ever, MI6 Confidential magazine is releasing a double issue to pay tribute to Sir Roger Moore’s tenure as 007. Sir Roger was not only a fine 007, he was a true gentleman, humanitarian, and raconteur. His unique brand of charm, wit, and style permeated everything he did and his self-effacing, humble attitude was […]
