The James Bond Dossier: turn on images for best user experience

Hi

Summer's here so as usual I'm taking August off to spend time on the beach, long lazy days reading, swimming and sunbathing and evenings sitting out on the terrace sipping something cool and refreshing. The big decision each day is deciding which beach! ;)

Anyway, let's get on to 007.

In case you missed it, the big news is that Eon Productions announcement that Bond 25 will open on 8th November 2019. As feared, we have to wait more than two years for the next Bond film.

No actor is yet confirmed although I, like many other fans, are hoping Daniel Craig will return. There have been quite a few reports that Craig is "confirmed", but it's simply not true. Don't believe everything you read about Bond 25 in the media.

That was aptly demonstrated this week when UK tabloid the Daily Mirror ran a story on Bond 25, which was clearly fictitious. I won't link to the original story, as it's since been (slightly) updated, but you can get an idea of what went on by reading this report on MI6 and this published by Adweek.

The lesson here?

Don't believe everything you read or watch in the media, always run it through your BS filters before accepting it.

Question everything. The MI6 article includes a list of who you can basically trust and who you should disbelieve when it comes to Bond 25.

But don't think this kind of lousy "journalism" starts and stops with Bond. It's everywhere.

Well that's it for this month. If you're going anywhere for the summer have a great time and if you want to share photos of any Bond locations with readers of The James Bond Dossier then I'd love to hear from you.

If there is any major news you'll see it on the website and I'll be back with the newsletter next month. But I think I hear that beach calling.

See you in September!
