Hi - Well, what a month it turned out to be. After getting back from the beach one day in August I checked twitter and was astonished to see the latest announcement on the official 007 twitter account. Danny Boyle had left Bond 25!

In fact, I was so astonished I initially assumed it was a spoof. For at least 10 seconds anyway.

But after double checking what I was reading was really on the 007 twitter account began to wonder what the impact would be on Bond 25. 

Well, below you read my post regarding the announcement and initial thoughts:

And just to prove that James Bond remains relevant in the 21st century, at least as far as getting page views for news websites, the UK media went into a frenzy of speculation.

While you expect it from the tabloids, the so-called quality press wasn't immune from wild, wild speculation. Almost all of it complete and utter BS. 
If you really want to know what's going on then I'd recommend following me on Twitter or Facebook.

While most mainstream media is insisted Bond 25 would now be delayed until 2020, there were some indications that the film will still go ahead as planned:

While the crazy stories continued, Baz Bamigboye finally chipped in. He's had a few Bond scoops in the past and one of the only journalists who can be trusted on 007 related news. He wrote that Boyle quit after Eon wanted another writer to work on John Hodge’s script. You can read more about it here:

So, where are we now with Bond 25?

I'm pretty sure the producers are going all out to find a new director to keep the production on track. It was due to start filming in December, but I think there is now a good chance that will be pushed until early next year.

We can only wait and see what news comes out of Eon Productions. They are sure to make an announcement as soon as they've signed a director.

But don't believe anything you read in the mainstream media about Bond 25 unless it is written by Baz Bamigboye. All the other stories are there to get visitors to earn advertising revenue.
