Hi - Unless you subscribed to this newsletter in the last couple of weeks you'll know the good and bad news about Bond 25.

Bond 25 logoI sent out a news bulletin on 20th May, but here's a reminder in case you've joined since then, or if you somehow missed it:

Good news: Eon Productions signed Cary Joji Fukunaga to direct the next Bond film.

Bad news: Bond 25 starts shooting three months later than originally planned. That also means it won't be released until Valentine's Day 2020.

Let's take a look at how we reported what's been happening since the last newsletter. In fact everything in this newsletter is related to Bond 25!

First of all came the news that Daniel Craig is due to shoot a film in November.

I speculated "it wouldn’t be that surprising if shooting were bumped to early 2019".

Turns out I was spot on!

Despite that MI6 was reporting that Bond 25 was still on schedule with work continuing on the sets. As it turned out that wasn't quite accurate.

Meanwhile,  Saïd Taghmaoui said Danny Boyle cast him as the main villain. He added that he was uncertain whether he’ll be in Bond 25 or not.

Baz Bamigboye reported that Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have been brought back in to develop their screen treatment for Bond 25. He cited “a Hollywood executive close to the production” for his information. Bamigboye has often proved himself to be reliable on stories related to 007.

Two actors who appeared in SPECTRE have both said they’d love to reprise their roles in Bond 25.

Both Dave Bautista & Léa Seydoux would “love” to return in Bond 25

And then Eon Productions announced they had finally signed a director to replace Danny Boyle.  You can read their brief statement by following the link below.

So who is Cary Joji Fukunaga? I wasn't familiar with his work at all so took a look at what he's done to date. You can read all about the newly signed Bond 25 director here:

Well, that's it for this month. While it's not great news that Bond 25 will be delayed, at least we have a new date to aim for.

Probably no real info will come out until early next year as they gear up for filming. But if any news comes my way that looks real then I'll let you know on the website and, of course, via the newsletter.

If it doesn't pass my BS filter then I don't report it. I sometimes mock some of the worst example of BS Bond stories on Twitter though.
