Hi - After it was finally announced back in May that Danny Boyle would direct Bond 25 with a script by his long term writer John Hodge we decided to take a look at their respective careers to date. 

The son of Irish immigrants, Danny Boyle was born in Manchester in 1956. Realising from an early age that he wanted to make movies, Boyle abandoned his studies at the University of Wales to pursue theatre. Read more about Danny Boyle here.

John Hodge is a British screenwriter and dramatist best known for his big screen adaptation of the novel Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh. The film became a cult classic and won the 1995 BAFTA for Best Adapted Screenplay. Click here for more on John Hodge.

Last month we heard the sad news of the death of Eunice Gayson, who played Sylvia Trench in the first two James Bond films. Appearing right at the start of Dr No (1962), she helped introduce Sean Connery as 007 and in doing so became the first ever Bond girl. Read Eunice Gayson dies at the age of 90.

Orlebar Brown’s first involvement with the 007 series goes back to Skyfall, after they provided Daniel Craig’s swimwear for a very brief pool scene. This month they've launched a new collection with artwork from four James Bond movies. They're rather horrible, but you can learn more about the new 007 collection swim shorts here.

Last year, MI6 Confidential introduced a new special format: a limited-run 100-page perfect bound issue of the magazine taking a deep dive into one particular facet of the franchise.
