Hi - I'm just back home after spending a few days at the beach and trying to survive the heat which hit 40ºC last Friday - that's 104ºF. But at least we could cool off in the sea.

But because I was away I had to miss the events organised by Secret Cinema for the Bond community's thought leaders. And part of that included VIP tickets for Secret Cinema Presents Casino Royale 🙁

So while I can't offer you a review of Secret Cinema's presentation of Daniel Craig's first Bond film I'll send you in the direction of Mark O'Connell instead. He's written a comprehensive review here.

And remember my Aston Martin driving day organised by Secret Cinema at the beginning of June?

While I published an article about it on The James Bond Dossier, I also wrote something for MI6 too. You can read it here.

News

Before we get onto Bond 25 I want to cover some other news in the world of 007.

First of all was the announcement that an exclusive touring version of the Bond In Motion will visit six selected European F1 Grand Prix this year. The first one was in Austria this last weekend.

And sticking with cars, RM Sotheby’s announced they are to auction an Aston Martin DB5 with gadgets which is expected to sell for $4-6M.

Bond 25

If you want to avoid spoilers completely then skip this section. But if you do want to learn what's happening with Bond 25 and still remain free of any major spoilers then this is the section for you!

There's quite a bit to report...

Fleabag and Killing Eve creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge talked to Deadline about her work on Bond 25. And she told them Bond is “absolutely relevant now”.

And then a bit of a mishap happened on the 007 Stage when an explosion injured one crew member and caused damage to the exterior, causing Eon to issue a statement while the tabloids called Bond 25 "cursed".

It was later reported that the Health and Safety Executive would investigate the Bond 25 explosion but after an initial assessment decided against against a full investigation and closed the case.

Filming on Norway’s Atlantic Road took place in early June, but with one surprise. The car used in filming wasn't quite what we expected.

Then on 20th June Prince Charles visited Pinewood Studios to see filming underway. Photos and a short video shared by the official twitter account for the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall show him visiting Bond 25 set at Pinewood.

To coincide with the visit Aston Martin announced that the Valhalla will appear in Bond 25, one of three models in total.

A week later the 007 website released a video going behind the scenes with Daniel Craig and other cast members in Jamaica.

Then the official 007 website released a photo of Daniel Craig in front his 1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage after he was seen filming in Whitehall this weekend. They also released video footage on social media.
